oro is a daily emotional-wellness app for cats and dogs. Each day you take a quick photo of your pet, oro reads their mood from the image, and gives you an affirmation written to be read aloud. Over time you build a picture of your companion's calm, bond and energy.
The whole ritual takes about two minutes and is designed to keep you in tune with how your pet is feeling.
No. All you need is your phone and your pet. There are no wearables, collars or sensors — oro works entirely from a photo you take in the app.
oro currently supports cats and dogs. You choose the species when you create your pet's profile, and oro tailors mood readings and affirmations accordingly.
How oro reads a photo, what the results mean, and how to get the best check.
When you take a photo, oro analyses facial cues and posture to estimate how your pet is feeling. The reading is informed by peer-reviewed research on animal facial expression, including the Feline Grimace Scale, CatFACS and DogFACS.
The result is a wellness signal — a read on mood — not a medical or behavioural diagnosis.
Each check gives you an overall mood (for example calm, mixed, or tense) plus wellness signals like Calm, Bond and Energy. These are meant to help you notice patterns over time, not to grade your pet.
A single "tense" reading is not a cause for alarm on its own — it's the trend across days that's most useful.
No. oro is a wellness and educational tool. It does not diagnose illness, pain or behavioural conditions. If your pet seems unwell, in pain, or their behaviour changes suddenly, contact a veterinarian.
Photos are processed to produce your mood reading and are not used to build advertising profiles. We keep them only as long as needed to deliver and improve the check, then delete the source image. See the Privacy Policy for full detail on retention.

After each check, oro gives you a short affirmation matched to your pet's mood, written to be read out loud. Reading it is a small moment of connection — your voice, directed at your companion. It's the emotional heart of the daily ritual.
Yes. Tap the read-aloud button on the affirmation screen and oro will speak it for you. You can also simply read it yourself, which many owners prefer.
Affirmations are addressed to your pet and tuned to their species and mood, so a calm cat and an anxious dog will hear different words.

Each day you complete a check, your streak grows by one. Miss a day and the streak resets. It's a light habit loop — not a punishment — to help the daily ritual stick.
oro frames reminders in your companion's voice ("Time to check in on me 🐾") because it feels warmer than a standard alert. You can adjust or turn reminders off at any time in settings.

Trials, plans, cancelling and refunds.
Yes — oro starts with a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged during the trial, and you can cancel any time before it ends to pay nothing.
oro offers weekly and monthly plans. Current pricing is always shown in the app before you confirm. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
Subscriptions are billed through the App Store, so you cancel from your Apple subscription settings:

Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled through Apple's process. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you have an issue, contact us and we'll help where we can.
If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your chosen plan begins automatically and your payment method is charged. oro reminds you before the trial ends so there are no surprises.
Your email, pet profile, and your privacy choices.
No. Registration is optional — you can use oro without creating an account. Adding your email simply lets you save your pet's profile and receive gentle tips. You can skip it and add it later.
Open the pet profile from the home screen to update their name, species, age, personality and arrival status. Changes apply straight away.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing sean@oro-ai.co. See the Privacy Policy for your full rights.
No. We don't sell your personal data, and pet photos are used to deliver your mood check — not to build advertising profiles.
Quick fixes for the most common snags.
Streaks count one completed check per day and reset after a missed day. Time-zone changes or a check completed just after midnight can occasionally shift the day boundary. If you believe this is an error, contact us with the date.
Confirm notifications are enabled for oro in both the app's settings and your phone's system settings. Do Not Disturb / Focus modes can also suppress them.
Sign in with the same Apple ID you subscribed with, open oro, and use Restore on the paywall. Your subscription will be recognised automatically.
